Construction work is ongoing to replace the old footbridge to the reserve. An alternative route is available, but the Heron's Wing and Peter Scott hides will be closed until the work is complete. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Pond dipping

Pond dipping is fun, free, and available under the guidance of our friendly Learning Team here at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre during spring and summer weekends and school holidays (April – September).

Head for the Water Lab and grab a net to delve into ponds teeming with unusual wetland creatures – from killer Great Diving Beetle larvae on the prowl to spiny Sticklebacks and filtering freshwater Mussels. Some of the smaller pond inhabitants have the most fascinating lives, and you can take a closer look at some of them under the microscope!
