Its a dull overcast morning with a slight drizzle in the air, but the weather looks set to improve ready for the weekend and our Severn Wader Festival. Find out more about the event here. Work will continue on the South Lake today as part of our Autumn management regime so some disturbance to the scrape and deep lake will be inevitable.
Three Spotted Redshank were feeding in the channel this morning along with 11 Ruff, 2 Redshank and 23 Teal. A further 42 Teal were on the island along with 6 Lapwing, an Avocet and 2 Snipe.

A juvenile Little -ringed Plover was on the lower pond but was later heard flying over the visitor centre towards the South Lake. Also present were at least 6 Snipe, 2 Lapwing, 2 Redshank and 57 Teal.

Birds included 8 Pintail, 17 Wigeon, a Ruff, 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Avocet, 230 Lapwing, 350 Teal and a Grey Heron.
