Ruff
A good count of 73 Ruff on the Mere this afternoon, also still plenty of Snipe around with at least 200+ estimated, 25 Black-tailed Godwit and 1000+ Lapwing.
Good numbers of raptors too with at least 5 Marsh Harrier to see, 12+ Common Buzzard including 2-3 pale birds, also Peregrine, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.
Among the 12000+ Pink-footed Geese using the reserve 3 Barnacle Geese again along with the leucistic Pink-footed Goose.
Plenty of visible migration this morning with lots of Meadow Pipits overhead flying south and plenty of Swallows, Grey Wagtails and some Skylarks mixed in. Grey Wagtail showing well in front of Discovery Hide.
By the Harrier Hide a Cetti's Warbler was heard singing occasionally. A few Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps seen and heard around the reserve.
