Wildlife Sightings for 15th October 2023
3 Water Rail on the west of the reserve, both calling and seen skulking along the reeds. 2 Kingfisher perching in wildside and on the main lake. Large counts of wintering ducks and some exciting ducks too.

Stonechats and Chiffchaff fluttering around the wader scrape. Garganey on the main lake.

2 Great Crested Grebe on the main lake and reservoir lagoon. Lots of Wigeon on the reservoir lagoon.

A Garganey and a Pintail on the main lake. A Little Owl on the entrance lake early this morning. 2 Water Rail in the reedbeds.

Skylark, Siskin, Redwing and more flying over the site heading west. A Red-Crested pochard on the reservoir lagoon.

2 Redwing near south route feeders. 1 Stonechat on the marsh. Large numbers of Wood Pigeon on site and flying over.

Multiple Skylark flying over north-west. Plenty of Chiffchaff around wildside and Hobby on the marsh

Red-Crested Pochard still on the reservoir lagoon. Sparrowhawk on the wader scrape and Kestrel over the sheltered lagoon.

A Red-Crested Pochard on the reservoir lagoon. 2 Songthrush flying over the site, and 20+ Meadow Pipit flying westward.

50+ Meadow Pipit, Redpolls and Siskins flying over the site. 7 Snipe, Skylark and Stonechat on the grazing marsh.
