WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre won the Sustainable Tourism Award at last night’s Marketing Lancashire Tourism Awards.
The award, presented by Wayne Hemingway at the event at Preston Guild Hall, was won for the following:
Centre Manager, Andy Wooldridge, said: “This is the first time we have won this award so I am absolutely delighted. Winning these awards give everyone at the centre, staff and volunteers, a sense of pride and it is fantastic to know that all the work we have done to make Martin Mere more accessible in the community has resulted in us being recognised for this award.”
WWT Martin Mere is open every day from 9.30am to 5.30pm and parking is free of charge. Situated off the A59, it is signposted from the M61, M58 and M6. The Centre is also accessible via the Southportto Manchesterand the Liverpoolto Prestonline by train from Burscough Rail Stations.
