Restore Nature Now

March with us on 22 June

On Saturday 22 June, thousands of people will march through London to Parliament Square with a simple demand to all political parties: Restore Nature Now.

This legal, peaceful and inclusive demonstration is intended to be the biggest gathering of people for nature and climate that the UK has seen. It is both a celebration and a call for action – anyone who cares for our natural world is invited.

Head to the Restore Nature Now webpage for everything you need to know ahead of the march, including the final programme and travel guidance.

Why are we doing this?

We don’t need to look far to see that nature is in crisis. Across the world our wildlife, woodlands and wetlands are disappearing at alarming rates. In the UK – one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world - one in six species are threatened with extinction.

Yet, while the alarm bells are ringing, our political leaders are nowhere to be seen. From sewage spills to unchecked ever-rising temperatures, a woeful lack of action has led the UK to being miles off meeting even its own nature recovery targets.

Something needs to change - now. With an era-defining general election round the corner, we need our representatives to know just how much of the public care about the natural world and the threats it faces.

We know that throughout history, social change has happened when people come together. That’s why on 22 June, WWT will be joining thousands of others in marching through London to Parliament Square to demand that all political parties act to Restore Nature Now.

What can I expect?

Restore Nature Now is a family-friendly demonstration open to anyone who cares about the natural world. We will be gathering on Park Street at 12pm before marching to Parliament Square, where speakers from activists and entertainers to leading conservationists will join the demonstration with some inspirational calls to action.

The march will be fully stewarded with first aid and wellbeing provisions for anyone who needs it.

WWT will be present at the demonstration to champion wetlands, both as an ecosystem in crisis and as a solution that offers hope.
