The whole reserve is looking stunning again in the sunshine.

Holden Walkway
What a difference a few days make. Big thanks to the guys at the Environment Agency for the loan of a pump to bring the water levels up. The center of the field is now flooded and looks fantastic. 50 Bewick's look great with a supporting cast of hundreds each of Lapwing, Golden Plover, Dunlin, Wigeon and Teal. Among them look for Redshank, Ruff, Curlew and Black Tailed Godwit. Up to 3 Water Rails showing and fighting at the willow hide and a couple of superbly close Reed Buntings here as well.
South Finger and Zeiss Hide
Similar to the Tack piece with big roving flocks of hundreds of waders (20 Ruff 300 Golden Plover and counting) combining with hundreds of Teal and Wigeon, the 47 Whitefronts, the 8 possible Wild Greylags and a handfull of Bewick's Swans to create a truly fantastic spectacle. Scour the edges of the water courses for Snipe at least 12 on view from the Zeiss.
South Lake
Close up views of some of the waders with Black Tailed Godwit, Lapwing and over 200 Dunlin. Among them is at least 1 Little Stint,.Good Luck!
TOP TIP; watch out for a Kingfisher on the arrival pond or the ditch north of the arrival ramp, often perched on a high twig over the ditch.
