Due to high water levels on the Ouse Washes the largest number of birds to see are diving ducks in the day and swans from dusk. Lady Fen is providing the greater variety of birds, fantastic views from the visitor centre.

Windy day here at Welney, water levels continue to rise which means only the Main observatory is open, however there continues to be lots of activity on the reserve with wildfowl and hunting birds of prey.

We have opened the footpath to Nelson-Lyle hide this morning, Sun 5 January, as water levels are dropping. Wellies are essential to get to this additional hide from the main hide, as you are walking through standing water.
