14 to 15 May sightings
Things are settling down, the occasional migrant sighted, a few new birds have been noted on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Many species are well into the breeding season.
The male White-spotted Bluethroat, as far as we know, hasn't been sighted over the last couple of days.
Tack Piece
Drake Teal, drake Wigeon, 3 drake and two duck Shoveler + pair of Pintail still on the central flood this morning, the latter arrived yesterday with two drake and one female Teal.
Estuary Tower
Seven Dark-bellied Brent Geese on the foreshore + 6 Grey Plover, 1 Knot, 7 Sanderling (6 yesterday) and five Dunlin on the Severn fed and roosted near Middle Point.
Middle Point
One of the Grasshopper Warblers was reeling north of the Shepherds Hut hide.
Top New Piece
71 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Redshank and 2 Lapwing, Greenshank, 6 Redshank, 2 Oystercatcher, Reed &Sedge Warblers.
South Lake
2cy Mediterranean Gull, Crane family, 2 Black-tailed Godwit and 30 Avocet, 58 Avocet, 2 Egyptian Goose, 2 Great Crested Grebe and Cetti's Warbler.
Kingfisher Hide
Crane, the adults with two young, Kingfisher, both adults still feeding young in nest also Buzzard and Cuckoo. Marsh Harrier over the Bottom New Piece.
