This October half term, discover activities that show just how super wetland nature can be!

Enjoy a host of creative and nature-themed activities. From wildlife spotting and fungi hunting to potion making and spell casting, our wetlands are bubbling over with magic. Check out our full list of events below!

Plus our creative table will be back all throughout half term to do some Halloween colouring and drawing!

October half term activities

Fungi walk

Saturday 26 October, 11am - 12noon
Search for fairy inkcaps, dead man's fingers, candlesnuff and more on a fungi hunt with our reserve team.

Pond dipping

Saturday 26 October, 1pm - 2.30pm (drop-in sessions)
Search for spotted tops, giant domes, shaggy ink caps and more on a fungi hunt

Spells and potions

Monday 28 October, 1pm - 2.30pm (drop-in sessions)
Mix a magical potion made with natural wetland elements surrounded by woodland wildlife

Poems and spells

Tuesday 29 October, 1pm - 2.30pm (drop-in sessions)
Poems and spells go hand in hand. Write your own spooky poem and turn it into a magical spell!

Owl pellet dissection

Wednesday 30 October, 11am - 12noon (drop-in sessions)
Take a closer look to find out what owls eat, and we've got lots of bones and skulls for you to look at. Whose head will you be holding?

Leaf collaging and nature palette

Wednesday 30 October, 1pm - 2.30pm (drop-in sessions)
Collect natural materials and enjoy creating a nature palette and collage in the woods!

Make a Halloween lantern
