Wildlife sightings for 24th October 2020
mixed flocks of Chiffchaff Long-Tailed Tits and Goldcrest are moving around wildside
Bittern - main lake North shore
1 Pintail - reservoir lagoon
1 Water Rail - main lake (in front of Headley hide)
2 Fieldfare - South route
2 Redpoll - wildside
1 Goldcrest & 2 Chiffchaff in a mixed flock of Long-Tailed Tits - wildside
120+ Starlings - mostly flying west with a few dropping onto the marsh
1 Kestrel - South route
1 Peregrine - South route
Dragonflies: (late September) Common Blue Damselfly, Emperor Dragonfly, Willow Emerald Damselfly, Common Darter, Ruddy Darter, Migrant Hawker.
Wildflowers: (late September) Bird's-foot Trefoil, Yarrow, Purple Loosestrife, Flowering Rush, Field Scabious, Devil's-bit Scabious, Wild Carrot.
Reptiles: (19th September survey) Slow worms (11 juveniles, 25 female, 2 male); 2 Grass snakes; 2 Common Lizard.
