Large movement of winter thrushes over the reserve this morning.
100+ Redwing - flew over heading S/SW/W
13 Fieldfare - flew over heading W
3 Skylark - flew over heading W/S
15 Chaffinch - flew over heading W/S
4 Snipe - wader scrape, grazing marsh
1 Stonechat - grazing marsh
5 Water Rail - main lake, main reedbed, wildside, South route
7 Redpoll - sheltered lagoon
8 Siskin - flew over heading SW
1 Kingfisher - wader scrape
Dragonflies: (late September) Common Blue Damselfly, Emperor Dragonfly, Willow Emerald Damselfly, Common Darter, Ruddy Darter, Migrant Hawker.
Wildflowers: (late September) Bird's-foot Trefoil, Yarrow, Purple Loosestrife, Flowering Rush, Field Scabious, Devil's-bit Scabious, Wild Carrot.
Reptiles: (19th September survey) Slow worms (11 juveniles, 25 female, 2 male); 2 Grass snakes; 2 Common Lizard
