Godwits are now displaying on lady fen – they have just migrated from west Africa where they have spent the winter. There is only 60 pairs in the UK - Welney has about 15 pairs.

Water levels are starting to drop across the Ouse Washes, the A1101 is due to open today. As water levels continue to drop islands and spits of land will increase, as will the amount of birds.
